⁹ And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better to enter heaven half blind than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell.

³² Remember what happened to Lot’s wife! (She kept looking back at possessions and past life. God’s angels were rushing them out to safety, but she was covered with the burning minerals and became a pillar of salt.)

¹⁶ For the world offers only the lust for physical pleasure, the lust for everything we see (lust of the eye --KJV), and pride in our possessions. These are not from the Father. They are from this evil world.
